Note
NB:
Most of our students have had their permits pasted
into the passport however immigration changed their
rules last year where the permit will be an electronic
record of which they get on ‘paper’ to
the student.
The visa gives permission to travel to NZ and lists
the conditions under which students are able to enter
NZ and obtain a permit. The permit gives permission
to be in NZ and generally is granted on arrival upon
the immigration officer being satisfied they meet
the conditions of the visa.
In the COP of the MOE, it states that the student
must a hold a current student visa or permit endorsed
with the institution at which the prospective student
is seeking to enrol and the course of study the prospective
student intends to undertake. Immigration will accept
the visa copy on file if the permit was issued electronically.
Therefore ensure you copy both the current student
visa and permit from the passport. Details on each
label should be the same. If there is no Permit label,
ask the student for the paper verification they were
given to state they were granted a permit.
International students must also provide a medical
certificate.
